Are you a registered reader at the French National Institute for Art History Library and cannot find a document in its collections? The library can help you obtain the document from another French library (outside Paris and Île-de-France) or from an international library.
Interlibrary loan is a paid service available only to registered readers with a valid annual library card, which must be valid for more than one month.
The lending library determines the consultation conditions, including the loan duration, whether reproduction is allowed, and the cost of shipping.
This service incurs charges for postal fees. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your document, which will specify the exact invoice amount.
The fees are determined by the lending library and are payable upon the first consultation of the documents. Payment is accepted by credit card or check, made payable to the “agent comptable” of the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art.
Please note that you remain responsible for all fees, even if the documents are returned without being consulted.
You will be notified by email once the documents are available. Delivery times vary depending on the lending institution.
No, consultation is only available on-site in the reading room of the INHA Library. No home loans will be permitted.
