Understanding interlibrary loan services

  • Interlibrary loan is a paid service available only to registered readers with a valid annual library card, which must be valid for more than one month.

  • The lending library determines the consultation conditions, including the loan duration, whether reproduction is allowed, and the cost of shipping.

  • Yes, this service incurs charges due to postal fees. You will receive an email upon receipt of your document specifying the exact amount of the invoice.
The fees are set by the lending library. Charges are payable upon the first consultation of the documents. Payment is accepted only by credit card or by check, made out to the “agent comptable” of the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art.
Please note that fees remain your responsibility even if documents are returned without consultation.

  • You will be notified by email when the documents are available. The supply time varies depending on the institutions.

  • No, consultation is only available on-site in the reading room of the INHA Library. No home loans will be permitted.
